While on my trip covering Prince Charles in Jamaica I stopped by the SOS Children’s Village of Jamaica. The goal of the SOS Children’s Villages is to offer orphaned and abandoned children – regardless of race, nationality or creed – a permanent home and to prepare them for an independent life. As soon as I got there the kids ran up to me saying, “Sir Sir Sir….take my picture! Let me see…let me see, Sir. Show me, Sir!!!!” After every single picture they wanted to see themselves on the back of the camera screens. A couple of them knew how to scroll through the other images. Pretty crazy.
This was the first kid I saw upon my arrival.
He was having a blast dragging a bucket with a string!
The kid in the green was driving a remote control car down the hill and didn’t even know I was walking up the street.
I waited…..waited…….then he drove the RC car into my foot!
He looked up and I shot this picture!
“Sir Sir….take our picture, Sir!”
This is one of my top 3 favorite pictures in my LIFE!!!
It’s pictures like this that remind me why I love being a photographer!

these pics are great……..our children are such wonderful beings…….thanks
Hi guys!!!
I was surprised that even the hotels have joined together to help the children …a gesture of solidarity .
I actually liked this initiative because thanks to the people who travel and book a room in a hotel, part of this money will be donated to the NGO Children’s Village to support the development and education of children.
I leave you here the link if you want to see this initiative.
