In most cases I become friends with my clients after their weddings…in this case Celeste and Adam have been my friends for some time now! We’ve spent many days on the beach for “Sunday Funday”, picked crabs and we even were invited to their house warming party! So I was excited when they asked me to take some engagement pictures at the beach.
Seriously this pictures doesn’t even look like Delaware at all! That might be the highest point in the whole state of Delaware in the background!

Celeste…stop laughing so much! Haha!

In this day and age the majority of brides contact me about my wedding photography via email. Well one cold March day I recieved a phone call from a bride asking about the possibility of me being her wedding photographer. She sounded very confident and out going! We chat for a good 30 minutes while she finished up her lunch break. We hit it off so we set up a meeting at my office. Fast forward a couple weeks, Becky and Clayton came strolling in and jumped right conversation. We ended up talking about random things rather then their actual wedding! Which I’m fine with. So the next day I got this email: “It was really great meeting you yesterday. Clayton and I are going to be spending Easter with my parents.. and we are going to tell them that we want you to be our wedding photographer! We both agree that your style of photography and your mentality is exactly what we were looking for!!!”
So their wedding day finally was here. It’s always nice to not have to travel hundreds of miles to shoot a wedding. I enjoy shooting local Delaware beach weddings now and again. The prep started in Rehoboth Beach with a ceremony at Epworth United Methodist Church. Then the bridal party hopped on the Jolly Trolley to head back to Lewes Yacht Club. It rained off and on but we headed to downtown Lewes to shoot some wedding party pictures. Becky and Clayton were complete naturals in from the the camera….aka hams!!!
We then headed back to Lewes Yacht Club where the party continued into the night!

We even got a local Lewes Cop to shut down the canal bridge for about 5 mins!

One of my fave wedding reception pictures to date!

About 9 months ago I received this email from a bride saying, “Your pictures are absolutely stunning and I would love for you to be the photographer at our (Ashley & Kyle) wedding. I would consider doing anything for them and I may even sky dive and I hate plains and heights!” LOL! Ashley and Kyle finally can to meet up at my office and the rest was history. Next step before the wedding obviously was to take some engagement pictures. They chose to come down to for their engagement pictures in Lewes Delaware. There was a huge storm rollin in and I foretasted that we had about a 45 minute window. The second the tires of my beach truck hit the sand the sky fell!
We did end up getting a good 40 minutes of photos taken…so I was happy.
Anywhooooo…their wedding day was here. I remember Ashley mentioned she saw an old school yellow taxi a few time in the area. So one weekend she follow the taxi and asked if she could rent it for her wedding! So glad she did. She was so excited to tell me about it! We got some awesome wedding pictures throughout the day! Such a fun day!

“Flay pop pop” even showed up!
