Welcome to the Journal!

My journal highlights my personal and professional adventures as a full-time wedding photojournalist! I absolutely love being a wedding photographer! My "job" is to hang out with awesome couples on the biggest day of their lives! Throughout my career I've photographed city weddings with 300 guests and small intimate Riu Ochos Rios Jamaica destination weddings with about 30 guests! My wedding photography studio is based out of Lewes Delaware, although I've traveled all over the world including Kingston Jamaica and Montego Bay Jamaica to photograph two events with Prince Charles!!!

So if you want to hang out on your wedding day, please drop me a line...even if you don't have a date set, wedding reception site picked or even if there is no fat rock on your finger! ;)

The 2010 Photog Shootout Cross Country Trip was decided by the members of the group!  Several messages were sent out to the group asking what cities would be interested in hosting a Photog Shootout Event.  Well a familiar face and name recommended we come to Phoenix.  I had seen Christy popping up on Facebook here and there.  Most of the photos consisted of her jumping in the air and/or acting goofey with her Washington DC Photographer crew!

I had never officially met Christy…but I’m so glad I finally did!  Her and her man Jasen helped plan and rock out the Phoenix Photog Shootout. We quickly hit it off…so much so that I invited them up to San Diego…and they actually came!  We had dinner and desert on Friday, beach on Saturday and “traded” photography sessions on Sunday!  Had such a blast with new friends!  ;)   I love meeting new photographers along my journeys…..and its so rewarding to actually make new friends like Christy and Jasen.  Did I mention they are badass photographers too?!?!  Check them out:  http://www.studiomoirae.com

Here is my fave shot from the Phoenix Photog Shootout!

After almost 6 months of a min-vacation, finally I shot a “real job.”  ;)   April and May are prime season for engagement pictures, which is then followed by weddings.  So I met up with Brooke and Frank for their Ocean City Maryland engagement photos.  We had the most interesting time.  We shared many laughs.  There were many firsts.

So while walking on the beach Brooke says, “Why does it look like that guy is getting a blow job over there?”  I looked and replied, “Because he is!”  Yes…430pm…on a Sunday….a man was getting a BJ!  It was crazy!  Then later on Brooke and Frank were pooped on by a random sea gull flying over head!  Haha!  Life as a wedding photographer is never dull!

So I haven’t been around in a while.  After an awesome 2009 wedding season and the birth of our little girl Paige I took a break. Hit the road for two months and travel the good ole United States of America.  I’ll be posting new stuff soon!

I know I know.  I haven’t updated the website for a while.  On 2/22 Kaya (our dog) and I hit the road for an eight day cross country trip.  We stopped by several cities and hosted Photog Shootout Events in New Orleans, Dallas and Phoenix!  Rested for a few days in San Diego with the family then headed to Vegas for WPPI!  Each year WPPI calls tens of thousands of portrait and wedding photographers to Las Vegas!  It is so amazing to meet and hang out with old and new friends.  Here is a sneak peak of a little Karaoke that took place!
