Bea, Chris and I had a good old time during their rainy Old New Castle engagement pictures! So when I talked to Bea last week she said the 10 forecast was looking good! I told her not to even look at the 10 day weather forecast. Ten days is a long time and anything can happen.
Good thing is the weather was perfect for their wedding day.

Sandy and Mike’s wedding day was finally here. The clouds were ominous and the winds were strong. Although Sandy and Mike were so laid back! Sandy’s phrase of the day was, “Sure…whatever.” So laid back!

Gotta love the Delaware Beach weddings…everyone laughed when the jeep drove by!

In most cases I become friends with my clients after their weddings…in this case Celeste and Adam have been my friends for some time now! We’ve spent many days on the beach for “Sunday Funday”, picked crabs and we even were invited to their house warming party! So I was excited when they asked me to take some engagement pictures at the beach.
Seriously this pictures doesn’t even look like Delaware at all! That might be the highest point in the whole state of Delaware in the background!

Celeste…stop laughing so much! Haha!

In this day and age the majority of brides contact me about my wedding photography via email. Well one cold March day I recieved a phone call from a bride asking about the possibility of me being her wedding photographer. She sounded very confident and out going! We chat for a good 30 minutes while she finished up her lunch break. We hit it off so we set up a meeting at my office. Fast forward a couple weeks, Becky and Clayton came strolling in and jumped right conversation. We ended up talking about random things rather then their actual wedding! Which I’m fine with. So the next day I got this email: “It was really great meeting you yesterday. Clayton and I are going to be spending Easter with my parents.. and we are going to tell them that we want you to be our wedding photographer! We both agree that your style of photography and your mentality is exactly what we were looking for!!!”
So their wedding day finally was here. It’s always nice to not have to travel hundreds of miles to shoot a wedding. I enjoy shooting local Delaware beach weddings now and again. The prep started in Rehoboth Beach with a ceremony at Epworth United Methodist Church. Then the bridal party hopped on the Jolly Trolley to head back to Lewes Yacht Club. It rained off and on but we headed to downtown Lewes to shoot some wedding party pictures. Becky and Clayton were complete naturals in from the the camera….aka hams!!!
We then headed back to Lewes Yacht Club where the party continued into the night!

We even got a local Lewes Cop to shut down the canal bridge for about 5 mins!
