So after spending almost 3 months traveling the US and in San Diego it was time to bring Photog Shootout back East again.  Why not host our first Photog Shootout event in 2010 in the city where it all started?  Good ole Philadelphia!  We ending up renting out the Basement at Power Plant Productions. The theme was “High Fashion Burglar” and this workshop was all about off-camera flash, gels and posing.  It is so great to push our creativity as photographers in a low pressure environment.

The 2010 Photog Shootout Cross Country Trip was decided by the members of the group!  Several messages were sent out to the group asking what cities would be interested in hosting a Photog Shootout Event.  Well a familiar face and name recommended we come to Phoenix.  I had seen Christy popping up on Facebook here and there.  Most of the photos consisted of her jumping in the air and/or acting goofey with her Washington DC Photographer crew!

I had never officially met Christy…but I’m so glad I finally did!  Her and her man Jasen helped plan and rock out the Phoenix Photog Shootout. We quickly hit it off…so much so that I invited them up to San Diego…and they actually came!  We had dinner and desert on Friday, beach on Saturday and “traded” photography sessions on Sunday!  Had such a blast with new friends!    I love meeting new photographers along my journeys…..and its so rewarding to actually make new friends like Christy and Jasen.  Did I mention they are badass photographers too?!?!  Check them out:  http://www.studiomoirae.com

So after almost a whole year of Photog Shootout events nationwide we came back to where is all began.  I knew I wanted to make this event an O-mazing one!!!  So for this photography workshop I made the theme “Punk Rock Bridals!”  ;)  Philadelphia is one of my favorite cities of all times.  I mean with a nickname of “Illadelphia”…you know it rocks!  So with the theme in place the planning began.  When planning these photography workshops in other cities I often have to reach out to my local photography peeps in that town.  My good friend Darah (AKA D-Nice) of Dollface Studio allowed us to use  her new studio for hair, make-up and wardrobe.  Also a HUGE thanks goes out to my boy Michael Allebach of Allebach Photography and Tattoedbrides.com!  Once I announce the theme he was quick to jump onboard and help me plan this puppy.  I was happy to have him as he IS the a PUNK…….Rock photographer!  lol

So everything came together.  When I woke up it was 20 degrees out!  I had to bust out the long johns and the Navy peacoat.  All in all the event was awesome.  We had some great feedback from the photographers who came out and I cant wait until the next one!  Which happens to be the NYC Photog Shootout in January!

Atlantic City Photog Shootout was a huge success, despite the weather!  We had almost 70 people come into AC from Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.  We got our shoot on, learn on and laugh on!
